We're holding an information event next Wednesday 24 June to show residents living around the Hungerford Road garage site the plans for redevelopment of the site. We're working with Sarsen Housing Association to develop the site for housing.

The event is being held at the Hungerford Community Centre on Hungerford road from 4.30pm to 6.30pm. It is primarily aimed at local residents who will be effected by the development. We have also invited the ward councillors and I wondered whether the neighbourhood partnership would also like to send a representative to come and view the plans on behalf of the group?

It's a drop in event rather than a formal meeting. The project team will be on hand to answer any questions.

Safer Bristol are hosting a Community Crime Fighters event at the Marriott Hotel in Broadmead, 9.30am on Friday 26th June.

Second Community Crime Fighters Training Conference – 26th June 2009

The Government is establishing a Community Crime Fighter programme with the aim of helping to create stronger links between crime fighting agencies and the communities they serve.

This will be done by offering training and skills to activists like yourself, in order that you may become an even more effective advocate for your community.

Following a very successful Community Crime Fighters Training Conference in Cardiff in March, Safer Bristol have organised a second event in Bristol on Friday 26th June. The conference is free to attend and lunch/ refreshments will be provided. The conference will start at 9.30am.

The training will include;
• Information on how you might get more involved with your local services to reduce crime and the fear of crime in your community;
• An understanding of the services you can and should receive from the police and other agencies in your area; and
• Ways that you can more effectively hold you local crime fighting services to account.

If you are interested in attending this event please can you contact Kate or Emily on 0117 9031788 or email: Kate
