Learning Communities Action Group

The new Community Leaning Action Group for Stockwood & Brislington is being established as an important local planning and consultation group that will link directly into existing local groups as appropriate (e.g. Neighbourhood Renewal) and ultimately to Bristol’s Local Strategic Partnership decision making structure.

The overall purpose of this group has been identified as:

• To enable key community partners to help co-ordinate and plan engagement and community learning to increase Level 2 achievement levels amongst priority residents aged 19-64

Members of this new group, sponsored by the LSC, will have an opportunity to:

• Contribute to Bristol’s Community Learning Plan which will influence future patterns of LSC funded engagement and community-based provision for adults aged 19-64
• Take part in local consultation and evaluation of all aspects of community learning, from engagement to formal learning programmes
• To work with other local agencies to develop more efficient operations so that more residents can find out about and benefit from community learning resources
