4 Matters arising
5.3.7 S Pearce thanked the meeting for the kind sentiments expressed in the letter from the Secretary.
8.2 D Waters tabled the first copy of the "Community Times" magazine for discussion under AOB. Submission of any copy must be made by 22/06.
5 Project Updates
5.1 St Anne's Park
5.1.1 Additional funds for the play area are becoming available thanks to John Threadgold.
5.1.2 Additional trees for the park are coming - thanks are due to Peter Wilkinson. NT reports the wheels grind precious slow though.
5.1.3 NT reports that the funding stream "Living Spaces" is once again accepting bids.
5.1.4 BL reports refurbishment of the 2 tennis courts is costed at £55K. A brief discussion raised the possibility of dividing the tennis area - part as parking for the bowls club & part to be used for a multi-sport MUGA court.
5.1.5 NT reports she has been approached by many people who want to see more facilities in the park. She is eager to start a "Friends of" group.
5.2 Community Action Plan
5.2.1 Members of the Group (notably AP & LH) have commenced analysis tasks associated with the findings of the feedback drop-ins.
5.2.2 Interim reports have been assembled, stapled, envelopes are stuffed and they’ll be posted out over the next few days to officers/service providers.
5.3 Respect
5.3.1 The Respect project steering group has not met since the last BCP meeting.
5.3.2 SC advises YPS roadshow to take place on 20/06 from 6.30-8.30. BESP, Connexions and Respect street team will be in attendance. All welcome.
5.3.3 Due to the success of the Karate club on Thursday evenings it is now likely that Wicklea youth club will open on Tues & Weds instead of Weds & Thurs.
5.3.4 A BYCA summer diversionary bid is being prepared.
5.3.5 Football coaching is going well, basketball is also proving very popular.
5.3.6 The self-defence classes at St Peters are popular and well supported.
5.3.7 Youth Opportunities Fund applications have been submitted for skateboarding, football and basketball.
5.3.8 SCYP meeting at Wicklea on 5th June 10.00-2.00.
5.4 Wicklea Shadow Management
5.4.1 Additional computer hardware and beginners courses now available at Wicklea.
5.4.1 A first aid course for candidates with less than Level 2 qualifications will also be run.
5.4.2 E-mail from SC tabled. Shows that instructions have been given to commence discussions between BCC & YB on a (25yr?) long lease. DW to discuss with Trevor Jones.
5.5 Nightingale Valley
5.4.1 The Living Rivers walk from Saltwell Viaduct through NV went very well with many people turning out.
5.5.2 All looks well in the valley, AG will be carrying out further work soon. Foxes have been seen on the far side of the railway embankment.
5.5.3 GL reported seeing a sign "Beware - Basking Adders" near to the spring. The source of this sign is unknown.
5.6 Website
5.7.1 No report.
6 Planning Applications
6.1 No report from AP.
6.2 Phone mast at the library. This application (07/20062/REF) is now going to the planning inspectorate. Representations (in triplicate) to be submitted by 26/06 please. AP to write.
7 BESP
7.1 No report

8 AOB
9.1 Community Times magazine. Decided to submit copy to the magazine and "suck & see".
9.2 Reflux Camera Club is holding a photo competition entitled "Spirit of Brislington". This will be launched at Arno's Park Funday on 8th July. Results will be announced at the RCC meeting on 6th Sept. All ages are welcomed.
9.3 BCP and CAP group to try to have presence at APAG Funday to raise profile and awareness of BCP & CAP.
9.4 In interest of profile raising, is it possible to get funding from ComDev for publicity materials - particularly business card type 'flyers'.
