1 Present

3 Minutes of last AGM

4 Chair’s Review

4.1 In the past year BCP has expanded and many of original objectives devised over last five years have been progressed.
4.2 Friends of Nightingale Valley continue to maintain and improve the valley.
4.3 The BCP website launched successfully, with the Partnership Directory a particular success.
4.4 Progress with YMCA taking control over Wicklea Shadow Management and Wicklea Centre. BCP will continue to monitor to ensure continuing role in the community.
4.5 BCP has made strides with The Big Moan, The Big Grin and Respect. In September two Outreach workers were employed to work with Brislington youth.
4.6 BCP has also supported the Langton Court Initiative.
4.7 BCP also working with Bristol City Council’s Sustainable City Team to develop a Community Action Plan.
4.8 Formal thanks for work and support of Development Team at Wicklea, Louise Bale, Theresa Driscoll, Stuart Pattison and minute takers.

6 Election of Officers

6.1 Chair: David Waters nominated. Motion seconded. All agreed. David Waters Chair for 2005–06.
6.2 Vice Chair: Roy Marsh nominated. Motion seconded. All agreed. Roy Marsh Vice Chair for 2005–06.
6.3 Treasurer: Theresa Driscoll nominated. Motion seconded. All agreed. Theresa Driscoll Chair for 2005–06.
6.4 Secretary: Angela Piccini nominated. Motion seconded. All agreed. Angela Piccini Secretary for 2005–06.
6.5 Minute taker: Stuart Pattison agreed to share responsibilities.
6.6 12 full BCP members: Steve Pearce, Barbara Lewis, Peter Begley, Joules Taylor,k Andy Grant, Lynda Harris, Stuart Pattison, Colin Salmon, Louise Bale, Gill Luxford.

7 Chair’s Overview

7.1 Of particular concern is YMCA relationship with BCP following takeover of Wicklea.
7.2 Peter Begley questioned Barry Scrace’s role and whether BCP needs to negotiate formal relationship with YMCA prior to contract.
7.3 Maurice King seconded this concern.
7.4 Suggestion that BCP write to David Pendall (cc’ed Barry Scrace) to arrange meeting (ACTION: AP)

8 Wicklea Management Committee

Gill Luxford reported that A-frame sign now advertises Wicklea opening.

9 Website

Joules Taylor reported on change of charging arrangement with website statistics software provider. Rather than risk inappropriate advertising pop-ups, suggestion that BCP opt for subscription-based site visit counter. (AGREED. ACTION: JT)

10 Respect

The two Outreach workers are conducting their weekly tours of the area. No evidence as yet that their work impacts on youth behaviour. Agreed that it is early days.

11 Nightingale Valley

11.1 Andy Grant reported that weekend of 4 & 5 November saw path clearance.
11.2 Next working day 19 November.

12 AOB

Gill Luxford spoke with Barrie Parsons, who confirmed that as YMCA is in negotiations with Wicklea that moves for Bristol City Council to see land adjacent have been put on hold. Parsons was unaware of the freehold conditions on property that stipulate land to be used only for leisure purposes. Parsons investigating.
