3 Minutes of last meeting
Agreed subject to the following:
5.4 Barbara Lewis, not Barbara Campbell.
4 Review of 2008
4.1 AP presented the Review of the Year (attached to these minutes).
4.2 Young Bristol has presented a new bid proposal to BCC for Wicklea. The current financial climate means that YB is unable to justify sale of their property and therefore propose a 25 years lease and no financial investment in the property at this time.
5 Treasurer's Report
6.1 All officers stood down. BL took the Chair to manage the election of new officers.
6.2 For Chair, Steve Pearce and David Waters were nominated. DW was duly elected Chair.
6.3 For Deputy Chair, Steve Pearce and Louise Bale were nominated. LB was duly elected Deputy Chair
6.4 For Secretary, Steve Pearce stood uncontested
6.5 For Treasurer, Colette Linehan stood uncontested.
6.6 LHe hopes to secure services of a paid Minutes Secretary in short order.
6.7 BL vacated the chair in favour of DW.
7.1 CS facilitated a full PACT session at this point in the meeting. Notes will be made available separately.
8.1 RF advised that while the Area Green Space Plan process had come to a temporary halt in Brislington, this was in no way sinister. Time and recruitment pressures had diverted RF but although the AGSP process across the whole city is now much tighter for time, the schedule for Brislington is actually more relaxed now. RF will be re-scheduling a number of further meetings in the near future.
8.2 Formal consultation on the AGSP is planned for mid-2009.
8.3 A part of the resource being made available to communities as part of the Neighbourhood Partnerships process is a city wide consultation finder. This will enable residents to identify and engage with community involvement opportunities that are active for their neighbourhoods, without trawling through the list of all such processes in the city.
8.4 New swings have been installed in Victory Park. This has nothing to do with the AGSP, it is part of normal capital spending in the Brislington area.
8.5 Following the news about YB & Wicklea (4.2 above) BCP has sent a formal Expression of Interest in Wicklea to BCC.
8.6 SC reported that she has been able to secure additional lettings of space at Wicklea, at commercial rates.
8.7 Those that took advantage of the recent tour of Brislington Enterprise College report that the new facilities are very impressive.
8.8 The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment - now launched - identifies the current and future health and wellbeing needs of people in Bristol. The report was carried out jointly by Bristol City Council and Bristol Primary Care Trust.
It can be found at:
Joint Strategic Needs Assessment
8.9 Two planning matters of interest: Latimer Close (again) and tree works in Victory Park.
8.10 The next meeting will be the last before Christmas, please feel free to bring your own festive goods along to share!
