Denise Clifford’s job title was incorrectly recorded. She is Senior Youth Development Worker.
This aside, the minutes were agreed. There was one matter arising.
The insurance issue raised last month has been resolved. Young Bristol are accessing public liability insurance cover for the youth workers, Young Bristol’s insurance provides the other cover needed.

There has been no BCP meeting since last month.
Young Bristol’s application to the Community Access Fund has been unsuccessful. Young Bristol will now revert to their fallback option, which entails the use of their own funds and the requirement for a longer lease from BCC. The removal of the external funding gives Young Bristol additional room to manoeuvre and may permit them to start work earlier than was previously thought possible.

The £5,000 funding secured in the BCC budget by Councillor Barbara Lewis may necessitate the filing of an application form.
The Yapp foundation has been identified as a potential source of continuation funding for the Respect Project.

Following up on the PACT issues highlighted last month, the street-based youth team have been unable to identify any young people participating in graffiti or other antisocial behaviour at the Brislington Hill concourse and car park, and have seen none at the rear of the Wicklea centre.
Tim has typed up street team reports and will send them in electronic form to the secretary. The team has lengthened its tour in the light of the improving weather and has noticed that young people are once again hanging out at the Arno’s Vale Park. The group asked the team to include Somerfield’s in their future tours as young people have been observed hanging out at the rear of the store.

Skateboard Project

Evidence of spending has been presented to Rachel Beatty at BCC.
At the last session, the sign on the sheet had 32 names on it, although only 18 were present at any one time. It is evident that a third worker is required to manage this level of activity and the building. An “Awards For All” funding application for 44 sessions and first aid training will be submitted. Tim requires a copy of the BCP governing document for this application, which the secretary will supply.
Lorna Heaysman has enquired about the possibility of hiring the skateboard equipment and staff for a future event in St Paul’s. The secretary will arrange contact between the project workers and Lorna.
