1. Minutes of last meeting

Neal Agreed with the following matters arising:
Amend "Youth Work Training" to "Volunteer Youth Workers Recruitment"
Wicklea – Legal paperwork now received by YMCA and matters being dealt with by both sets of solicitors. Agreement may be signed by end of the month. An official opening day will be arranged after this. There will be some fairly rapid physical changes with different furniture etc.
Healthy Living application has gone into Local Network Fund

2. Recruitment update

Dates in the minutes of last month have been put back as it’s unwise to advertise at the end of the summer.
All ads have now been placed to go out week commencing 11 September. VOSCUR, Venue, Job Centre and Evening Post classified.
Closing date now 22 September.
Interview date now 29 September.
YMCA will send a letter with new dates to all those that had previously applied or requested application packs.

3. Finance

Financial report – No change since last month.
YPS Funding - Packs are now out and closing dates is 5 October.
Action : Heather & David Pendle to talk about including Respect within a wider Wicklea/Brislington bid.
BYCA Funding - Agreed Respect won’t put in an application for October as it's not definite there will be any workers in place.

4.Charitable Status

Law Centre recommended Brislington Community Partnership became a Company Limited by Guarantee and register with Companies House. Then register as a charity with the Charities Commission.
Sub Group have a meeting on 18 September set up to look at constitutional amendments needed.
Aiming to have this done by AGM in November, or delay the AGM slightly until the paperwork is necessary.

5.Terms of Reference

Defer this until after the new BCP constitution is written.

6. Youth Forum

Have this as a major agenda item for next meeting.
Action: David Pendle to give Heather some website addresses to include in minutes so people have a chance to look at different ideas and to familiarise themselves with this before next meeting.

7. AOB

David Pendle suggested at some point a task group be formed to look at ways of developing the wasteland at the back of the building for community use.
There is a new stream of Lottery Funding for Community Buildings and the closing date is April 2007.
This task group could be made up of the members of the BCP, some young people and other local residents.
Action: David Pendle to put together a paper on this for the next BCP meeting.
Agreed to change day of meeting to Wednesdays in future: opportunity to engage with young people at Youth Club. Also, Sally and Heather unable to make Tuesdays anymore.

8. Date of next meeting

7 pm, Wednesday 4th October, Wicklea.
