1. Minutes of the last meeting

These were agreed with the following matter arising.

The reference to a Karate club booking clashing with the skate project is incorrect. This related to an Ability-Sport booking.

2. Wicklea Update

Various meetings have been held with Trevor Jones of Young Bristol. It is very clear that YB is committed to Wicklea but it is also clear that planning and funding issues could mean that it could easily be 12months until YB are in a position to take over the running of the building.
In addition to much needed redecoration, YB will be seeking changes to office provision, the creation of on-site garaging for YB vehicles and will seek to provide additional storage space for users.
BCC have agreed to provide a lease of more than 25 years.
YB will be submitting a funding application before the end of the month and expect first news of this in January. Discussion continues regarding the cost of the community room to users.

3. Finance

Agreed

4. Street Based Workers

Since the last meeting of Respect the street team have had a couple of weeks off for holidays etc. The tour that took place last week showed very few YP out and about. The first Friday after last Respect meeting the street team talked to YP at Arnos Vale about the proposed Arnos Vale skate project. They were very enthusiastic about it. The team took a number of YP bowling and by doing so was able to avert an incident of ASB.

5. Projects

Football Project

BCC are funding this until about March.

Skateboard Project

The booking form for Wicklea has been found, sent off and Wicklea will be used at nil cost.
The skate-ramps should be on site in about 2 weeks and the project workers would like to have an open day to sign up locals and show off their work. Many people are showing an interest in this already before the ramps are even on site. Due to holidays (see above) skate has had a two-week break as well.
The equipment storage is in the old gym room.

6. Counter-Terrorism

There have been reports of ASB in the vicinity of the Bloomfield public house.

7. Any Other Business

Callington Rd underpass is suffering from ASB, criminal damage, drug use etc. PC Andy Bird is hoping to get young offenders to do the repairs.

7. Date of next meeting

7.30pm, Wednesday 5th December, Wicklea.
