Wicklea
This is Bristol article here.
In the absence of the council letting people know what is happening, we have collated our own information sheet here:
Wicklea building is shutting in Sept 2012.
1. All existing community groups and youth groups will need to move out by August 31st .
We wish them all the best to keep on running the great services that they run for the community and to find new venues to run from.
If you have any views on this please:
a) Go to the Neighbourhood Forum meeting on 6th February. This is in Hungerford Road community Centre, BS4 5EX. Time 7-8.30pm. More details on Forums on My Neighbourhood and/or
b) Come to Wicklea on 10th February at 5.30 to tell Kerry McCarthy (MP) who is coming here to host a community meeting to hear our views.

3. Youth services are going to change.
The youth service will only be in the ownership of the Wicklea building until the end of August 2012. It was originally going to be offered to new youth providers to run after this time. However because of the school moving to the Wicklea site, it has been removed from youth service management after the commissioning in September. We will need to wait until September to see what services will be offered to young people in this area. We do not know where these will be, possibly detached or non centre based work.
If you have any views on this please:
a) See the Bristol Youth links information on the internet eg Bristol Children
b) See the decisions agreed through cabinet in December 2011 and Scrutiny committee in Jan 2012 which means that the Youth links commissioning process will definitely be going ahead.
c) Go to the Neighbourhood Forum on 6th Feb (details above) to support young people and/or
d) See Kerry McCarthy about it on 10th Feb (details above)
