Vision Statement
Over the next year, we are looking to become more dynamic in the provision of service in order to allow a larger number of young people to benefit from the project. We aim to do this in the following ways:
Receive funding from a body that allows us to open the project to young people up to the age of 25.
Making better use of the mobile skateboarding equipment that we have that we have, by allowing other organisations to hire our service as a mobile skatepark. This will give for example, youth clubs/organisations, schools and after-school clubs, throughout the city and the surrounding areas, the opportunity to benefit from our service. Organisations will be able to hire the equipment alone or the equipment with skateboarder tuition for events such as taster days, fun days and demonstrations. The fee will be attached to this on a sliding scale depending on the organisation's ability to pay. For example, a non-profit youth club would be charged considerably less than a local authority. The project would still remain strictly non-profit with any funds going into the running costs. The aim being that the project can become more self-sufficient and thus need less funding from outside bodies. The project would still run as a centre based youth project every Saturday with the mobile skatepark coming into effect over school holidays and during evenings.
Actively promoting the project through Flyer is, business cards and the Internet.
Having a budget set aside for hiring outside professionals to come in and deliver specialist activities, workshops, etc i.e. hiring graffiti artists to deliver a graffiti workshop or a dance instructor to deliver dance classes.
Making more links with other youth groups and organisations, ie. EU. Strengthening our existing links with the Young Bristol and Bristol City Council.
Providing more support for our employees, either paid or voluntary. Having a budget to set aside to fund training courses such as first aid, sexual health and drugs issues, etc. This will both support our employees and allow them to deliver a better service to the young people using the project.
